Fix flash of unstyled text

Presents itself in IE9. The IE engine shows unstyled text while it waits for the font to download from Google. Firefox seems to do ok. Chrome/WebKit just doesn't render text until it gets the font; I kind of like that behavior.

Still, it would help with the polish on this site to get this fixed.

I don't see how waiting for the font to load is preferred behavior to FOUT. Additionally, why can't we just optimize the page by switching to a browser-safe font?

We don't have a lot of visual action going on in the site design right now. It's nice to have some typography to give the design its own character.

I can try playing around with the main body text and seeing if a more readily available font might look nicer. It would be nice to have a designer's opinion here.
