Permission granted 😉 . I highly appreciate that you want to promote the use of alphaTab beyond the built-in marker. Generally I am also open to scenarios where an alternative logo placement replaces the built-in marker to get a better user experience. I am only a bit hesitant in situations where alphaTab might get burried in some about box / license list where nobody ever looks into. It doesn't align well with the energy I personally put into the project. I cannot simply accept donations due to tax regulations in Austria and attributions are the only sort of 'donation' that can flow back from the users easily. I should place the logos for download somewhere on the website, here in this old post you can find SVGs. #1608 (comment) Feel free to tweak them for dark/light mode and sizes as needed. I was thinking of designing some new logos for better use in different situations, but never invested much there 😅 |

Hi @Danielku15 and alphaTab team,
I'm building Smart Beat, a free cross-platform desktop tablature editor and music practice application built with Tauri, React and alphaTab.
alphaTab is a very important part of Smart Beat: it is used for importing Guitar Pro files, rendering notation and tablature, and parts of the playback/score workflow.
I'm planning to make Smart Beat public this coming weekend. The repository is still private while I prepare the launch, but I'll be happy to share the public repository with you as soon as it is released.
One of the main goals of Smart Beat is to provide a modern music notation and practice tool that is freely available across macOS, Windows and Linux. I don't currently intend to make money from the application, and the current plan is to keep the application and its existing functionality free and accessible to everyone.
I may eventually explore optional paid features in the future, but the intention is for the core application to remain freely available. If that ever changes in a way that affects your permission regarding the alphaTab branding, I'd of course be happy to confirm the usage with you again.
I'd actually like to make the alphaTab attribution more visible rather than hide it.
In addition to the attribution already present in the rendered score, I'd like to include the official alphaTab logo inside Smart Beat, for example in an "About / Built with open source" section, together with the alphaTab name and a link to https://alphatab.net/.
I'd also like to use the same attribution on the Smart Beat promotional website.
The intention is purely to credit and promote alphaTab and make it clear to users that Smart Beat builds on your work. I would not describe Smart Beat as affiliated with, sponsored by, or officially endorsed by alphaTab.
Would you be okay with Smart Beat using the alphaTab logo for this purpose?
If yes, could you also let me know which official logo/SVG asset you would prefer me to use, and whether you would prefer it to remain unmodified?
I'm happy to share screenshots or mockups of the planned placement before shipping it.
And once Smart Beat is public this weekend, I'll send you the repository as well.
Thanks a lot for alphaTab — it is a major part of what makes Smart Beat possible.
