X32 series were obviously designed and built as Mono into Stereo BUS sound consoles.
Having a Mixer configuration page, that could pick Qty of Mono/Stereo/Quad/5.1 channels, obviously using more resources than a standard mono channel, it would allow for all the channel-wide processing to be linked and working together, i.e. compression and eq.
- 32 Mono
- 16 Stereo
- 16 Mono & 8 Stereo
- 5 5.1 & 2 Mono
This would allow for Computer audio inputs to take 1 Fader instead of multiple. 5.1 Audio sources could be possible without a weird hack-around. No more channel linking.
I would be in favour of Quad/5.1 output options that would replace MATRIX's, I doubt for jobs that I'd need 5.1 that I'd need Matrix support.
Setting the MAIN BUS as 5.1 using the resources of the Matrixes. Allowing for Mono/Stereo sources to be "Surround Panned" to the 5.1 Bus. With some default options like mono -> LRC, stereo -> LR and Quad -> LRLsRs.
