Yes, we are working on a large rewrite at the moment. You can check the rewrite branch for the current status.

What async functionality are you missing specifically? Just so I know if we have missed something in our rewrite

That sounds good. Is there any timeline for that?
What we are mostly using is the IQueryable property of a given instance.
Example for Contact:

var prox = GetOrganizationService();
{
    Contact contact;
    using (var xrm = new Xrm(prox))
    {
        contact = xrm.ContactSet.FirstOrDefault(x => x.Id == id);
    }
  // Removed other lines for clarity
}

In this case I would like something like FirstOrDefaultAsync() if that is possible.
