Messages should be written to a file so they persist across restarts

.tell messages should be stored somehow so if the bot loses its connection or is restarted on purpose, users will still receive their messages.

they do persist in the shared memory segments since those are managed by the kernel. However they are not currently cleanaed up properly on failure or even proper reload

So we should save the segment you think so users can get their messages? When should we delete them if they don't get read. after some time period?

What if it saved all messages for X amount of days. When the bot detects you are active it alerts you of new messages. Then you can query the bot for messages, then the user can delete them if they want. Have a csv with user, messages, timestamp, and a read/unread flag.

Also, maybe an option to send/receive messages in private chat in addition to publicly.
