Benefit
‘Best Practices’ would help reduce friction for new users, and encourage them to operate in ways that align with the project’s goals. The ‘Least Bad Alternatives’ aid in this effort by providing alternative solutions in cases where users cannot achieve the former.
Solution
Add a subsection to the FAQ that covers four broad user types: casual, gamer, power user, dev. For each user type, list a few best practices for their workflow. Add another section showing examples of alternative solutions that are smart compromises (e.g. Fedora packaged GNOME shell extensions vs installing via GNOME.org, etc).
