The main process checks GitHub releases at launch and every 6 hours (stable or beta channel), downloads the portable exe in the background and checks it against the release's .sha256 file before offering it. A title bar button opens a popover to restart now or update on exit; a detached script swaps the locked exe once GetBox has quit. The release workflow now publishes the .sha256 file. After an update GetBox shows a one-time «Что нового» screen built from data/whats-new.json, with links into each new feature; Settings → GetBox shows the version, a manual check, background download and the channel.
