WalkthroughRole modification now detects changes to limited- and disabled-admin blocking policies. It loads users associated with the affected role and admin statuses, then removes or synchronizes those users according to the updated policies. ChangesRole Policy Synchronization

Suggested reviewers: Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to Editing a role's disconnect policy now loads and pushes every affected user in a single request. For large roles this can use a lot of memory and slow down or time out the role edit. If the node update fails after the change is saved, resubmitting the same settings will not retry it. Users can then stay connected or disconnected contrary to the saved policy. Both issues should be addressed or explicitly accepted before merging. Pre-merge checks |

load eligible users and dispatch them in bounded batches instead of
materializing and serializing the full role-wide result before dispatch; keep
max_users’ existing per-admin behavior unchanged.

- Line 88: Update the role-change flow around
sync_role_users_for_block_transition so failures after db.commit() leave
synchronization recoverable on retry; persist retryable work with the role
change or provide an idempotent reconciliation path that requeues the missed
node update even when a retry detects no policy transition.

…l changes The dashboard sends both disconnect policy fields on every role save, so treating an explicit field as a reconcile request re-sent the role's blocked users on every save, even a rename. The dispatch was awaited with errors raised, so one unreachable node turned the save into a 500 after the change was committed, and a slow node held the request open for every batch. Dispatch only when a policy actually changes, and run the reconciliation after the response with its own session. It reads the role again under a per-role lock, so overlapping edits end in the latest policy, and it keeps the ID-paged batches with awaited dispatch for back pressure. Per-node failures are logged as before; a node that misses a batch gets a full snapshot when it reconnects.

Thanks for this, the gap was real. I pushed one commit on top of your branch:

Summary
Editing a role's disconnect policy previously saved the policy without updating its existing node users. Apply the requested policies to active/on-hold users of disabled or limited admins, scoped to the affected role and admin statuses.
Load users with ID-based pagination in batches of at most 500 and await each batch's dispatch before loading the next. The role-edit path surfaces dispatch errors; existing background callers retain their behavior. Explicit policy fields reconcile even when their values are unchanged, so resubmitting the same request recovers lookup, serialization, or dispatch failures after the policy commit. Edits that omit both policy fields do not query or dispatch users.

Notes for reviewers
Only five production files change; no test or documentation files are included. Recovery uses idempotent reconciliation on retry, without a schema change or outbox. It does not add remote node acknowledgement guarantees; split-role dispatch waits for NATS publication. Existing delivery-time current-state refresh remains in place.
