Issues

• Large native builds: every segment takes the widest record's words, the C is one translation unit, and its names shift with every edit

• A read-only borrow of an Array for a parallel let, without @unsafe

• IO.fork computations run their pure work on one core; the guide says "in parallel, on every core"

• A library target for the browser: pure defs as WebAssembly, with parallel calls on Web Workers

• Process.run JS lane times out after the direct child exits with inherited pipes

bendlang/bend#1343 · Filter by author Osraka opened on Oct 5, 2026

• Without import Base, != and where/exs are parsed as bare Empty/Exists, so PROOF.bend decides what an imported LAWS.bend's != and where mean, even when LAWS.bend declares its own and checks alone

  bug
bendlang/bend#1331 · Filter by author Vacrin opened on Oct 4, 2026

• Without import Base, safe.ts writes a Nat literal above 4096 as the book's own Nat.add(Nat.mul(q, 4096), r), so --verdict passes a book whose certified main is 1n while bend2 runs it to 4097n

  bug
bendlang/bend#1330 · Filter by author Vacrin opened on Oct 4, 2026

• A bare constructor name as a match pattern is silently a catch-all binder whenever the datatype comes from another file

  bug

• --verdict hangs indefinitely under templated Curry

  bug
  bendlang/bend#1323 · Filter by author swamp-agr opened on Oct 4, 2026

• --verdict: the kernel runs out of fuel on a closed Nat comparison of literals around 3 000 000 that bend2 checks at once (2.0.34)

• Tracking: Verification gaps, ineffective regression tests, and demo defects

• Documentation clarification: State the limits of Bend’s guarantee that proved laws hold during execution

bendlang/bend#1317 · Filter by author cristianoc opened on Oct 4, 2026

• Test gap: The deep Nat thunk test runs compiled JavaScript instead of the source interpreter

bendlang/bend#1316 · Filter by author cristianoc opened on Oct 4, 2026

• Diagnostic bug: safe_diag cannot parse current rewrite syntax and misreports valid recursion

bendlang/bend#1315 · Filter by author cristianoc opened on Oct 4, 2026

• Test gap: Ownership tests miss memory leaks and omit the code they intend to check

bendlang/bend#1314 · Filter by author cristianoc opened on Oct 4, 2026

• Tooling bug: The proof survey mislabels infrastructure failures as proof rejections

bendlang/bend#1313 · Filter by author cristianoc opened on Oct 4, 2026

• Verification gap: Standard checks do not build the proof kernel or test its verdicts

bendlang/bend#1312 · Filter by author cristianoc opened on Oct 4, 2026

• Test gap: Compiler-cache tests never repeat compilations in the same process

bendlang/bend#1310 · Filter by author cristianoc opened on Oct 4, 2026

• Native automatic erasure progressively slows repeated wrapped-list allocation; explicit traversal stays fast

bendlang/bend#1307 · Filter by author paymog opened on Oct 4, 2026

• Metal: a run that runs out of heap sometimes faults or hangs instead of printing the out-of-memory error

  bug
  bendlang/bend#1300 · Filter by author nicolas-abril opened on Oct 3, 2026

• Closed Nat terms over big literals overflow the checker stack (Nat.add(4294967294n, 1n) == 4294967295n), and the overflow can hide the real error
