I've got a writeup on this I can try to share out. Been calling it a "trailhead" (where you start), but also thought of more generic "setup" inside the config. Definitely key for running trails for predictability on where to start. I actually have a writeup on a totally revamped yaml spec as well. Maybe I can move those to OSS, probably good to start having those things here for convo. |

Also have writeups on custom tools defined in yaml, and custom app targets. Actually have a draft PR for app targets, but am OOTO all next week, so we'll have to circle back after that and try to put things together. |

@mdelgado89 Here is the "v2" syntax idea: https://github.com/block/trailblaze/blob/main/docs/devlog/2026-03-06-trail-yaml-v2-syntax.md w/ |
Would be nice that a single recorded trail yaml could have records for multiplatform. We have a app that is the same but implemented by different teams, so the trailhead, the steps would be the same, the different would be the platform and the recording based on what accessibility ids the different native teams have defined. |
This PR is more for a discussion of how we can run commonly used recordings into its own separate trail.
This way we dont have to write those out every time.
