Release notes for Android SDK 7.3.1 (everything merged after 7.3.0: v7.3.0..v7.3.1).

Written for customers: what changed for them (symptom, API, behavior change), without internals, per the rule from the 7.3.0 notes review.

What is covered

  • Network capture (the main theme): bounded memory and no truncated bodies, the aligned request lifecycle (start on the wire, request body as an additional start event, completion at the real end, failures reported), the new NetworkEvent.isOverride(), Cronet/HttpEngine request bodies, HttpEngine requests that failed before any response, dropped OkHttp responses.
  • Reports and crashes: one crash report instead of crash plus error for unhandled exceptions, DetectAndReportCrash=false also stopping native crash reporting, crash details missing on recovered reports, the crash-loop thread burst, SDK breadcrumbs, background export in R8 apps, deleteCollectedDataOnDevice(), enum options in the environment record.
  • Video and view hierarchy, UI colors and feedback greeting, performance data format.
  • Compatibility: the only new public API is NetworkEvent.isOverride() / setOverride(boolean) (default methods); no new options.

Please check

  • HttpURLConnection known limit is stated in a note: it still reports a 4xx/5xx as an error and a mid-body failure as completed (6.x behavior, found by a stress run, not changed in 7.3.1). Drop the note if you would rather not document it.
  • Performance data format (OpenTelemetry spans in reports) is the one item with unclear customer value; the standalone APM upload is not enabled in production, so only the in-report format is mentioned.
  • Two internal-only changes are left out on purpose: the Maven checksum publishing changes and the network stress harness.

cspell is clean on the file.
