Remove the explicit master selector from read-only bosh-deployment Git sources, allowing them to follow the repository default before and after its rename. These changes can be merged and applied while the default is still master.

Update related documentation/comment links to main as part of the same repository follow-up.

Concourse Git resource contract: a read-only source can follow the default by omitting branch; a write source requires an explicit branch.

Validation: git diff --check passed. Exact parsed before/after comparison confirms only the intended Git source branch selectors changed. Modern strict offline pipeline validation reports the same existing template/legacy-schema errors before and after; runtime compatibility requires operator verification.

Only checked-in definitions are changed. Deployed pipeline reconfiguration and runtime checks remain operator-owned. No Concourse pause/unpause, configuration, cache clearing, resource checks, job triggers or configure-script execution were performed.

Cutover steps, consumer readiness and rollback: cloudfoundry/bosh-deployment#539

Community configuration (draft): cloudfoundry/community#1686

Walkthrough

The bosh-deployment Git resource no longer pins a branch and uses the repository’s default branch. The backup-and-restore guide now links to the bbr.yml file on the main branch.

Merge Risk: Low · up to 815ba

Coordinate the documentation link with the upstream branch rename to avoid temporarily broken operator guidance.

Explanation

The description is related to the changeset. It states that explicit master selectors are removed from read-only bosh-deployment Git sources so they follow the repository default, and that related documentation and comment links are updated to main. It also gives validation notes and links to cutover and community references. This matches the files in the summary: the bosh-bootloader pipeline Git resource and the backup/restore doc link.

branch until `bosh-deployment` completes its branch rename, or coordinate this
change with that rename so the `main` link is valid when published.
