Key Features

  • Creates the hierarchy Feature → Phase → Task as OpenProject work packages from tasks.md
  • Creates follows relations for real task dependencies (not for [P] tasks)
  • Idempotent: a per-feature mapping file is the ledger; re-runs skip existing items and adopt work packages found by their task-id subject prefix
  • --dry-run shows the plan without writing; --update updates titles and descriptions of linked work packages
  • Confirmation once per phase; nothing is ever deleted
  • Talks to OpenProject only through an MCP server (tested: jtauschl/openproject-ce-mcp ≥ 0.4.1, works with Community Edition); never calls the REST API and never stores tokens

Testing Checklist

  • Preset installs successfully via specify preset add
  • Template resolution works correctly after installation
  • Documentation is complete and accurate
  • Tested on at least one real project

Submission Requirements

  • Valid preset.yml manifest included
  • Linked README (Documentation URL) explains how to use this preset and includes a valid specify preset add ... command (preferably specify preset add --from <download-url> using the exact download URL)
  • LICENSE file included
  • GitHub release created with version tag
  • Preset ID follows naming conventions (lowercase-with-hyphens)

Additional context

  • The preset lives in the preset/ directory of a monorepo that also holds the companion openproject extension (submitted separately). The release asset is a self-contained archive with preset.yml at its root; the documentation link points to preset/README.md.
  • The preset provides no templates; it only overrides speckit.taskstoissues. The override was verified after installation with spec-kit 1.1.1 in skills mode (macOS).
  • Tested against a self-hosted OpenProject Community Edition instance; scenarios and results: https://github.com/Nachklang-io/speckit-openproject/blob/main/docs/TESTING.md. Untested paths (command mode, other MCP servers, spec-kit 1.0.x) are listed in the README.
  • sha256 of the release asset: e645436e32c5a9b5a5c00d00e293bce9bb8afaf2df1dac5a859d00434e59cc84
  • Proposed catalog entry: https://github.com/Nachklang-io/speckit-openproject/blob/main/docs/catalog/preset-entry.json

Preset 1.0.1 is released and replaces 1.0.0 for this submission. It fixes the work package subjects created by speckit.taskstoissues. They are now short headlines with at most 70 characters, and longer subjects are capped at OpenProject's limit of 255 characters.
