Back/Forward only walks history linearly, so returning to something seen a few navigations ago means stepping through everything in between. The two searchable popups (Ctrl+Comma, Ctrl+Shift+Comma) jump straight to a recently viewed node or to a recently left caret position, restoring caret and scroll.

Try it: open a few types, move the caret, navigate elsewhere, press Ctrl+Comma or Ctrl+Shift+Comma, type to filter, then press Enter.
