Documents the branding settings proposed in netbirdio/netbird discussion #6152 (Custom Branding for NetBird Login & Dashboard).

The self-hosted configuration files reference gains:

  • a "Branding" section under dashboard.env for NETBIRD_BRAND_NAME, NETBIRD_BRAND_LOGO_URL and NETBIRD_BRAND_FAVICON_URL, including how to serve the images from the dashboard container and how the login pages are branded separately;
  • server.auth.brandName and server.auth.brandLogoURL under the config.yaml authentication settings.

This depends on the dashboard and management PRs that add the settings and should only merge once they do. Links to both follow in a comment.

npm run lint:mdx passes. I did not run the full npm run build.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Documented optional branding settings for the dashboard browser-tab name, logo, and favicon, including supported image sources and container restart requirements.
    • Added embedded identity provider login-page branding settings and clarified that its logo must use an absolute HTTP(S) URL rather than a mounted file.

The settings documented here are added in netbirdio/dashboard#853 (dashboard) and netbirdio/netbird#8172 (login pages of the embedded IdP).

Wait for the branding implementations before publishing these settings; otherwise, administrators can configure them without changing the dashboard or login pages. Quote the multiword brand name in the Bash example.

Bash treats “Acme Access” as one value, or clearly label the block as an
environment-file example rather than a Bash snippet.
- Around line 295-298: Remove the server.auth.brandName and
server.auth.brandLogoURL configuration entries from this documentation until
both management and dashboard implementations consume the branding settings.
