I'm putting a pin in this for now, since (as @smklein and I agreed) the potential scalability issues of doing a bunch of separate queries to read from a bunch of tiny fact tables is Not Great; if Sean can make the dev experience for doing versioning/migrations in the JSON-based design, we would rather be able to just do one big query of a single fact table. But, we now know that the schema-driven codegen approach works enough that we can pick this back up if needed. And, maybe it could be useful for some other things. |
