docs: add the DEPLOY namespace to the error reference - #377
Every DEPLOY.* error prints a docsUrl that resolves to this page, but the page had no DEPLOY section, so the links dead-ended. Hit in practice through DEPLOY.PREFLIGHT_FAILED (prisma/composer#394), whose printed docs link leads nowhere.
docs/reference/error-reference.md: a DEPLOY row in the namespace table and a DEPLOY section between CLI and DEV, with one entry per code the mounted Composer family raises (14 codes, enumerated from @prisma/composer and @prisma/composer-prisma-cloud 0.35.0). Entry text follows each envelope's own message, why and fix fields, and the format mirrors the existing family-maintained DEV entries.
Validation
Markdown-only change. pnpm check:error-reference verifies codes from this repository's source, so added family entries do not affect it.
The deploy pipeline's errors print docsUrls that point at this page, but
the page had no DEPLOY section, so every such link dead-ended. Adds the
namespace table row and one entry per code the mounted Composer family
raises, with text taken from the envelopes' own message, why and fix fields.

Summary by CodeRabbit
Documentation
Expanded the error reference with deployment and teardown error codes, covering configuration, runtime, validation, and pipeline failures.
Added the deployment error namespace to the namespace table.
Walkthrough
The error reference adds the DEPLOY namespace to its namespace table. It describes the pipeline shared by Composer deploy and destroy operations and documents 14 error codes for dependency, configuration, container, engine, preflight, stage, target, teardown, and unexpected pipeline errors.

@quicksilversel nice work, thanks! I noticed that some of the error codes come from the previous CLI version, which used Composer 0.35.0. We are now at 0.36.0, which shipped some changes. You can see my proposals for changes wherever the contract has changed. Please let me know if you have any questions 🙏

Composer 0.36.0 adds prisma deploy list, which raises some of these codes too (DEPLOY.TARGET_NOT_FOUND, DEPLOY.CONTAINER_FAILED and the environment-name errors).

These codes come from Composer, the command family behind `prisma deploy` and the `deploy` and `destroy` operations of `@prisma/composer/control`. The pipeline both actions share loads the config and app, assembles each service, connects to the deploy target, runs each extension's preflight (on the Prisma Cloud target, the environment-variable check), and hands the generated stack program to the deploy engine (alchemy).

Same as the namespace row: prisma deploy list is new in 0.36.0.

Composer starts the deploy engine from the `alchemy` package installed beside `@prisma/composer`, and no runnable engine entry could be resolved from the app's installed dependencies. Layouts without a `node_modules` directory, such as Yarn Plug'n'Play, are not supported. The fix is to reinstall dependencies so `@prisma/composer` and its `alchemy` dependency sit in a `node_modules` directory. Meta: none.

Small one: this code is also raised when the app can't resolve @prisma/composer itself (Could not resolve @prisma/composer from "<appDir>"), not only the engine.

prisma deploy list raises this too when the lookup fails.

Preparing the deploy target's container failed: ensuring it exists on a deploy, or locating it on a destroy. The underlying error rides as the cause.

The deploy engine run failed: it could not be spawned, was interrupted by a signal, or exited non-zero. The message carries the engine's own error lines (credentials redacted). `meta.diagnostics` carries the exit code or signal, the path of the generated stack file (`.prisma-composer/alchemy.run.ts`), and a reproduce command that runs the engine directly against that file — running it separates "the framework computed the wrong thing" from "the engine or platform rejected the right thing". Meta: `diagnostics` (`exitCode` or `signal`, `stackFilePath`, `reproduceCommand`, `cwd`), and `signal` when interrupted.

On a non-zero exit the error also carries a top-level exitCode, and engineCause when the engine recorded one.

Composer 0.36.0 renamed "stage" to "environment" (prisma/composer#390): the flag is now --environment, and the stage codes became environment codes. It also added DEPLOY.ENVIRONMENT_REQUIRED for destroy() without an environment. These go here to keep the section in alphabetical order; the old STAGE_* entries below can then go.
Suggested change
### DEPLOY.ENVIRONMENT_INVALID
`--environment` was given a value that is not a valid git ref name (`git check-ref-format` rejected `refs/heads/<environment>`). Names made only of letters, digits, `-` and `_` are always valid and skip the check. The fix is to pass an environment name that is a valid git ref name. Meta: none.
### DEPLOY.ENVIRONMENT_REQUIRED
The `destroy` operation of `@prisma/composer/control` was called without an `environment`. Destroy never defaults to production, so a call without a name has no target. The fix is to pass `environment`, for example `destroy({ environment: 'staging', config })`. Meta: none.
### DEPLOY.ENVIRONMENT_UNVALIDATABLE
`git` is needed to validate an `--environment` name that contains characters other than letters, digits, `-` and `_` (via `git check-ref-format`), and running it failed, for example because git is not installed. The fix is to install git or make it runnable from PATH, or to use a name made only of letters, digits, `-` and `_`. The underlying error rides as the cause.
The configured deploy target supplied no deploy scope (its container defines no stage for the engine to run under). On a deploy the fix is to pass `--stage <name>` to choose the deploy scope explicitly; destroying production needs a target whose container supplies the production deploy scope. Meta: none.

DEPLOY.SCOPE_MISSING was removed in Composer 0.36.0, so nothing raises it anymore.

A destroy named an app (and optionally a stage) for which nothing is deployed, so the deploy target's container could not be located. Destroy never creates anything, so the fix is to deploy it first — or to pass the stage that actually exists. Meta: none.

The environment is required now (not optional), and prisma deploy list raises this code too.

Apply the review on prisma#377: name prisma deploy list where it raises
DEPLOY codes, replace the STAGE_* entries with the ENVIRONMENT_*
codes, add ENVIRONMENT_REQUIRED, drop the removed SCOPE_MISSING,
and complete the ALCHEMY_BIN_MISSING and ENGINE_FAILED entries.

@kristof-siket
Hi! Thanks so much for the quick and thorough review, applied all of it in 7e76765 :)
Also, sorry for pushing again after your approval. I picked up CodeRabbit’s wording fix for the pipeline sentence in the DEPLOY intro, but if you’d prefer your original wording, just let me know and I’m happy to revert it.
The 0.36.0 changes you described sound really nice, especially treating production as just another named environment and having destroy() refuse to default to it. Looking forward to it!
