### 2026-10-07 replacement Windows candidate (beta16)
### 2026-10-08 replacement Windows candidate (beta17)

The current replacement candidate is `4ab2fcf4cebee0945ffa4af067e7a9a650634a46`. It is the merge commit for
[#659](https://github.com/scgopi/GraphCode/pull/659), with parents
`add3e7e7e87738f5274ae7953c720359aa1824e0` and
`2d33df35fb0f38879ca6d706b385c56eedf562c8`. It replaces
`0.1.78-windows.beta16`, which is failed/superseded and immutable. Both beta16
handoffs (the original and `-r2`) are retained.

**Beta16 Dev Box finding (`LoopActivation`).** In a loop workspace, clicking
**Show in Graph** did not show the graph whenever a loop was waiting in
"Needs you". The hidden Needs-you rail was still hit-tested under the button, so
the click ran Review attention. The loop bar then switched to the Needs-you loop
while the pane stayed on the open loop.

**Fixes.**

- [#658](https://github.com/scgopi/GraphCode/pull/658):
- stops drawing and hit-testing the rail in loop workspaces;
- routes Review attention, the sidebar Needs-you row and Next/Previous Loop
through `activateLoop`, so the bar and the pane move together.
- [#659](https://github.com/scgopi/GraphCode/pull/659):
- gives the collapsed panel's expand control its own loop-bar slot, because it
covered Show in Graph;
- shares one loop-bar layout across painting, hit-testing and UIA;
- routes collapsed-workspace clicks to the workspace instead of the hidden
graph.

Both merged with exact-head CI green and change only the Windows Zig shell.

**Parity count correction.** #659 moved **Right loop panel** to `Partial`.
Earlier candidate sections in this plan cite 60/38, but a recount of the
ledger at each candidate source shows that #649–#651 had already moved one row,
so beta14–beta16 were 59/39. The ledger now counts **98 surfaces: 58 Validated
and 40 Partial**.

**Local validation.** Full local Windows-shell validation passed at the
candidate source with `VALIDATE_EXIT=0`:

- **55/55** sections;
- App **888/888**;
- scrubbed startup **5/5**;
- real-daemon round trip;
- live UIA gate.

**Tag.** The local annotated tag `0.1.78-windows.beta17` has tag object
`9d26d2c32bca3bb3259e1534ade783d0ab75884f` and peels exactly to the source.
It is local, unpushed and unpublished.

**Package.** The unsigned ZIP is **48,364,567 bytes**, SHA-256

`6e80eb2fbe486139d20d03694151a264f6f2e1ce6571c2fc41eb2e64f370d919`.
Repository and extracted setup verification each passed once, and the binary
reports `available`.

Verify and the file-only offline restore passed, with **43/43/43** LFS,
exact detached HEAD/tag, zero remotes and clean status.

**Handoff.** The handoff `GraphCode-DevBox-Handoff-0.1.78-windows.beta17` has

- Approval A keeps the beta16-r2 Worktrees decision,
`AvailableReclaimOnDisposableFixtures`: reclaim only on the disposable
fixture, no dump.
- The prompt adds a Show in Graph check, with the panel expanded and collapsed,
to step 7A.
