### 2026-10-08 replacement Windows candidate (beta17)
### 2026-10-08 replacement Windows candidate (beta18)

The current replacement candidate is `880e6a389a66f5fc4dbc9da0830673713f3482be`. It is the merge commit for
[#664](https://github.com/scgopi/GraphCode/pull/664), with parents
`607494c01ac4e67dae6389a3fafe5ef86d014aab` and
`b87d6749f45c58c32c35faf43828f5203c45c75f`. It replaces
`0.1.78-windows.beta17`, which is failed/superseded and immutable.

**Beta17 Dev Box findings.**

- `ProjectLiveUpdates`: after Ctrl+O opened a second project, the earlier
project stopped updating.
- D10 Lifecycle: Uninstall run with 13 live loop `zmx.exe` hosts removed the
task, shortcut and PATH entry, then failed and left a partial installation.
- Workspace findings: a stale terminal surface over the sidebar; UIA tab count
behind the drawn tabs after New Tab; New Tab shells starting in the install
`bin`; failed loop opens after the attached loop was deleted.
- Form findings: timestamp node IDs behind a constant prefix, and a Rename
dialog without initial keyboard focus.

**Fixes.**

- [#662](https://github.com/scgopi/GraphCode/pull/662): Uninstall refuses,
changing nothing, while processes run from the install root, and otherwise
removes everything or rolls back. It changes `PackageRuntime.ps1` and the
generated `GraphCode-Setup.ps1`.
- [#663](https://github.com/scgopi/GraphCode/pull/663): fixes the stale
surface, canvas button layout, UIA tab republishing, the New Tab working
directory, and opening loops after the attached loop is deleted.
- [#664](https://github.com/scgopi/GraphCode/pull/664): the shell hello carries
no project filter, so every open project stays live, and presence
`nodesChanged` deltas are applied.
- [#665](https://github.com/scgopi/GraphCode/pull/665): random RFC 4122 v4 node
IDs; text dialogs focus and select their first field.

All four merged with exact-head CI green. None changes shared Swift.

**Parity count.** #663 moved **Tab pills** to `Partial`. The ledger now counts
**98 surfaces: 57 Validated and 41 Partial**.

**Local validation.** Full local Windows-shell validation passed at the
candidate source with `VALIDATE_EXIT=0`:

- **55/55** sections;
- App **899/899**;
- scrubbed startup **5/5**;
- real-daemon round trip;
- live UIA gate.

**Tag.** The local annotated tag `0.1.78-windows.beta18` has tag object
`f788067c659eec7e16985847cdcfb50f5e9b5555` and peels exactly to the source.
It is local, unpushed and unpublished.

**Package.** The unsigned ZIP is **48,384,865 bytes**, SHA-256
`fe963df36281ca13fa444d51d48a29d5e1c268598aeffafde81d4cc12b263fee`, with

`56ee7f473f180c7635c0901bd49e6c0ead54e4f86f0851fb6115c23cd95a51b2`.
Repository and extracted setup verification each passed once, and the binary
reports `available`.

Executable SHA-256 values:

| Executable | SHA-256 |

| shell | `212e52b3fdcb4fe340c6211ee793154da168ebf55ce1ff7f386c15f865423c97` |

The daemon and CLI are byte-identical to beta17. zmx was rebuilt from the same
pinned commit; that provider build is not byte-reproducible. The packaged
binaries passed scrubbed startup **5/5**.

**Source custody.** The custody ZIP SHA-256 is
`65f340eecc6822297f3294d76933ed66580e6f5921c9557cf68175d4ad17f81e`. Create,
Verify and the file-only offline restore passed, with **43/43/43** LFS,
exact detached HEAD/tag, zero remotes and clean status.

**Handoff.** The handoff `GraphCode-DevBox-Handoff-0.1.78-windows.beta18` has
`hashes.sha256` SHA-256
`7ae54ffb554bb44248841a65158079f1506cc1be36109f5972a9c77386e31f03`; all
**8/8** entries verified.

- Approval A keeps the Worktrees decision `AvailableReclaimOnDisposableFixtures`.
- The prompt adds section 6D, which re-verifies the beta17 findings, and an
Uninstall-refusal check in Phase D10.
