Full extension reloads clear the temporary Cloud run snapshot, which could lose a paused browser's reservation. Persist a minimal handoff guard and restore interrupted, nonresumable ownership after reload, without storing prompts, results, notes or provider configuration.
Keep the profile reserved through confirmed cancellation and recording cleanup, including cancellation racing the fresh Hand back observation. Publish writable pause or terminal cancellation only after the required storage write succeeds. Preserve Firefox's direct bridge, main's startup/clarification safeguards, and version 40.4.1.
Independent review reproduced and verified the cancellation race; no unresolved findings remain. This follows the already merged handoff PR #3182 and integrates the later restart fix without merging the legacy v38 branch.
Validation: 224 Cloud tests (including 59 handoff regressions), 114 recovery tests, and 471 native lifecycle/startup/cancellation tests passed with no skips. Chrome and Firefox both build at 40.4.1;
git diff --checkpassed. The WebMCP smoke test also passed locally on Chrome 154.0.8037.97, including Agent/CDP feature and mode gates.GitHub Actions' CodeQL and WebMCP jobs did not start. Their check annotations state that the account is locked due to a billing issue. The WebMCP check was run locally as described above; CodeQL did not run.
